What is creative translation?
I’ve been wanting to make a website like this for a while. The idea is that I ask photographers, painters, sketchers, doodlers, whomever, to offer me up one of their pieces, and then I’ll attempt to write a poem to accompany it:
Creative translation is the process of adapting a message from one form of art to another, while maintaining its intent, style, tone and context. A successfully translation evokes the same emotions, and carries the same implications as the form of its source. It seeks to transcend the boundaries of culture and language, without the loss of salience, whilst respecting the original artist’s creative expression.
Would you like to feature on this website?
If you have a piece you’d like to share with me, drop me an email at TheWirelessQuill@gmail.com
I’ll check out your piece, write something I think fits with it, show it to you and get your feedback, and if it’s ok with you we’ll publish it to the site 🙂
All rights belong to the original artist of each piece, this is just a fun way to display them together.
